Dana Cartwright

Practice Operations Coordinator

Dana has been with Happy Pets Animal Hospital since January 2014.

Dana was born and raised in the Bahamas. She graduated from Temple Christian Highschool in June 2005, and completed her accounting courses 103 at The College of the Bahamas in 2011. A year later she also earned her AMT Phlebotomy certification. In august of 2015, Dana received her Veterinary Assistant diploma from Penn Foster and she is currently enrolled in a veterinary technician program.

She’s always had a great love of animals since she was young. When she graduated high school, her first job was working at a local veterinary clinic as a veterinary assistant. She had never worked with animals on a professional level before then, but everything came to her naturally. She can’t imagine doing anything else in life besides helping animals. Being able to help animals and nurture them back to health is a job that she doesn’t consider as work but as a gift. Dana knew that this was the right profession for her since the day she rescued a dog in her neighborhood when she was about eight years old. She has been running a makeshift shelter operation since then.

At her core, Dana is an animal lover through and through- so her animals are her family. Her two-legged family is comprised of her dad, her mum, and her older sister, who made her an aunt to the most precious gifts, which are her niece and nephew.

Dana enjoys cozy Sunday afternoons spent with her favorite guy; her hubby, watching Netflix and enjoying each other’s company. Her four-legged kids comprise of her cat Lily, and her three overly spoiled dogs Diva, Tucker and Princess.

Jamesly Pierre

Senior Veterinary Technician

Jamesly Pierre has been with the Happy Pets team since July 2017. His love for animals blossomed from an early age. He would find himself taking in and also taking care of stray and defenseless animals throughout his adolescent years. His profound desire in animals led him towards gaining vast amounts of knowledge in the veterinary field. Jamesly began volunteering at hospitals and shelters such as, “The central animal hospital” mentored by Dr. Basil Sands as well as, “The Bahamas Humane Society”.

Mr. Pierre enjoys the fast paced environment, the variety of life changing tasks encountered throughout a typical work day, and the constant opportunities presented daily to enhance his knowledge about animal care. As a result of many conversations with him he is a firm believer in the fact that there is nothing more satisfying than the satisfaction of a happy pet and their owner. Jamesly is the proud owner of a wonderful dog who has taught him so much about love but most importantly that Those who teach the most about humanity aren’t always human”.
